Happy Halloween

Geez, where has the month gone to? Just a quickie to wish everyone a Happy Halloween....don't eat too much candy....and save some of those Mini-Snickers, Milky Ways and Reeses PB cups for me!

I'm curious what one of the Outpatient Medical Records guys will dress up as this year. Last year, he dressed up like Richard Simmons....he was HYSTERICAL running down the halls acting just like Richard Simmons! ***EDIT*** He just came into my office to show me what he was this year....OMG!!! He's a 'Retired Playboy Bunny"!

Rat Bastard Says.......

Well, RB was back on our route today....poor widdle fella was sniffling from allergies. He asked if I was going to any more concerts, and I told him that I was going to see Bon Jovi in March, and he snarled his nose and said (Robin, don't have anything fragile closeby...LOL): "Bon Jovi??!!! They suck! Their new song sucks (at this point he does a mockery of Have A Nice Day)".

He's not called Rat Bastard for nothin'..... LOL

Think With That Thing On Your Shoulders, Guys

What is it with men jumping right out of the gate, asking a sexual question?? Is this absolute proof that men think with their 'little brain' more often than their grey matter between the ears??? Geezus!

TWS Strikes Again

The Word Slaughterer, aka TWS strikes again today. She will be moving back over to the hospital this week, and she was babbling about her old training manuals, and whatnot. Then she talked about working with the INFIDELITY co-pays. What she really meant to say was INFERTILITY. I turned around and looked at her and said, "Infidelity??!!" I wanted to laugh so hard.

As much as I'll miss TWS, I won't miss her babbling incessantly. Sometimes I want to look at her and say "SHUT THE F*CK UP!"

Gambling Run

Mom decided she wanted to get out of the house for awhile today, so we took a run up to Table Mountain for some gambling. I didn't do much in the way of winning, until I found a I Dream Of Jeannie nickel machine that was ready to be generous. I ended up taking $75 out of Jeannie's bottle. After we had a bite to eat, I played a Texas Tea nickel machine, and took another $35 off of it....although I should have cashed out when I had over 1200 credits. But it was fun to relax for a couple of hours.

And of course, I took the camera along....not much in the way of colors on the way up, unless you consider dry brown grass a color in the foothills. Plus the air was so mucky. But there were some nice colors on the trees lining the road by the Brighton Crest Golf Course, just before you turn into the Table Mountain parking lot:

Yes, the troll was very happy to see some sunshine, and fall colors, instead of just sitting in the car in the garage. ;-)

In a week or so, there will be some BEAUTIFUL colors in North Fresno, so next weekend I'll try to get out, and take a drive out there to take some pictures.

Got Our Tickets!

5 minutes after logging in to TicketBastard, I scored seats for Kathy and I for Bon Jovi - we're sitting where the red dot is:

We were in Section 124 for Crue, and it was too far from the stage to see anything. So these are hopefully better, since we're more to the middle. WOOHOO!!! Thanks Robin for the offer to help, though! I saw these come up, so I snapped them up.

Random Junk

I figured I'd throw one of my Sav-Fresno pictures on top for a few days for you Sav-crazy ladies out there. The man does NOTHING for me, but I'm a helper and a giver.....so there ya go!

Tootsie Roll anyone? Red Vine? Waffle Pretzel? Good thing the 10-Finger Office Moocher hasn't found this yet....but I'll share with you guys:

And on March 1, 2006....Kathy and I will be doing this at the Save Mart Center:

And this was a LOVELY sight I found during my morning walk break yesterday...NOT! Actually, it has been there on the north side of our building for quite awhile, since that side is unoccupied. Damned pigeons:

And one more tree shot from yesterday:

Go Buy Your Own Peanut Butter!

Last Friday, The Word Slaughterer brought in a few food items for herself to keep at her desk - things like crackers, a box of cereal, and a jar of peanut butter. On Monday, another co-worker must have gotten wind of her 'stash' because as soon as this other gal arrived at the office, she was in our quad, asking The Word Slaughterer if she could have some of her peanut butter....and she took the whole jar back to her desk up in the front quad, and kept it all morning!

Every day since, she's come to get TWS's jar of peanut butter! I had to zip my lip yesterday, to stop me from saying, "Hey, there's a store right down the street...GO BUY YOUR OWN DAMNED PB!!!" I told TWS after she left that she needed to start leaving a donation plate!

This gal is NOTORIOUS for begging for food if she knows someone else has a stash. I've witnessed her go to a desk of a co-worker who was off on a particular day, and HELP HERSELF to whatever the person had as a snack in their desk! What makes this woman think she can just help herself, without offering to replace whatever it is that she's eaten from someone else's snack stash??!! She's even come to me asking for something when she suspected that I had a private stash....and I did...but I told her no. I won't even give the gal a piece of gum!

She will even take pens off of your desk, with you sitting there and not even ask if she can borrow a pen. I used to keep a cup of pens on my desk, but after she reached over me to get a pen without even asking, I started keeping my cup of pens in my drawer. She'd really be hitting me up now, if she knew I had a bag of Tootsie Roll minis in my drawer. ;0)

Nice Sunset/Colors

We had some clouds hanging around last night....at first, the sunset didn't look all that impressive, but it got a little better after a few minutes - not all THAT impressive by my standards, but pretty just the same:

And here are a couple of pictures of one of the trees on our block that is starting to wear its fall color coat:

Brown, But No Rat Bastard Onboard

There was a Brown sighting today at work, but no Rat Bastard onboard....that kid was working the truck. I wonder if they switched RB's route again? He mentioned something about possibly being switched to another route again. If that kid is working our route again tomorrow, then no more RB. Now who's going to call me Bubblicious? *roll eyes*

Fall Colors Are Beginning

I hope everyone had a good weekend....all I can say about mine is: THANK GOD IT'S OVER. It was f-ed up from beginning to end. I hate weekends anymore.

We are beginning to see some fall colors to the trees here...I'll be taking my camera along with me during the next few weeks to capture some of the colors I see on the way to/from work. The trees on our street are also starting to wear their brilliant reds/oranges. These trees are in our parking lot....taken last Thursday:

Nice Little Perk-Me-Up

What a nice little perk-me-up this morning while watching the local news. They did a little story about how Triple-A Affiliate of the San Francisco Giants - The Fresno Grizzlies is now under new management. They were saying how they wanted to make the games more family friendly, and that they wanted to bring more non-baseball events to the stadium....and they showed a clip from the June 4th Lep/BA show! I just about jumped off the couch when I saw Joe gracing the TV screen, and the opening sounds of "Action" coming through the sound! Man, what a fun day that was!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE/Anniversary

Today is a special day for two reasons:

Today is my dear friend Bruce's birthday....HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRUCE...and THANK YOU for your friendship through the years!

And the second reason for today being a 'special day' is because today marks my 18th year at my job....silly, but hey....it's still my anniversary date!

Mom's Cardio Visit

Mom had another Cardiology visit today. Dad went with her, and said the doctor wanted to admit her. He wanted to admit her last week, so he could monitor how the new meds were doing, but she didn't want anything to do with that.

Today, the dr. wanted to admit her again, and perform what I suspect is an angiogram, to see if there is any blockage. She refused, but she is now considering it. He also upped one of her meds (Coreg) to two pills a day, and also put her on Lacix. Her ankles were so swollen over the weekend, and they still were somewhat swollen today.

I saw a lab request hanging on the wall when I got home from work, and he had circled CHF (congestive heart failure) and Hypertension, which she has had for years. So hopefully this will help with some of the fluid retention, and I'm hopeful that it will help with her breathing. I've said all along that she probably has fluid on the lungs, thus the trouble breathing.

Just wanted to update everyone, instead of individual emails. Thank you everyone for your concern, and words of encouragement. I love you all!

And sonofabitch my arm is sore from getting a flu shot today!

MIA

If I've been MIA from commenting on the blogs, don't worry....I've just got alot on my mind lately, and comments seem to be caught in the crosswalks of my brain for the time being. I am reading.....I just don't have anything witty to say at the moment. So please forgive me for not leaving comments.....there's just alot going on in dealing with Mom right now.

I have to go get my annual TB test today....plus I'll get my flu shot while I'm at the hospital. I sure as hell don't want ANYTHING like what I had this past February....that shit knocked me on my ass AND turned it inside out.

Well....

Crue proved to me tonight that they are not in Def Leppard's league by ANY stretch! Vince Neal can't carry a tune if he tried. And how many times do you really have to say f*ck? And I didn't get chance to do any sort of 'fashion pictorial', because we didn't walk over to the arena until 7:45. We just hung out at The DogHouse Grill across the street from about 5:45 till 7:45, grabbing a bite to eat, and people watch. I did see my 'second love', Jeff at the DHG. He came in from the patio area, and said, "I shoulda known I'd see you at a concert!" He gave me a big hug, and told me I looked great. Jeff and I dated back in 1980 for about 4 months. He was my second love, and he hasn't changed a bit. We chatted for a minute, then he went back to join his friend Wayne. They were also going to the show. I went out to the patio area later to raz Jeff about his Rams losing to my 49ers... that's always a fun conversation! LOL By then he was already 10 sheets to the wind. In retrospect, this was probably the highlight of the night...LOL!

When we walked over to the arena, they were doing pat-downs....men in one line, women in another, and in our line, there was only one woman doing the female pat-downs. HELLLOOOO!! You've got some angry, already-wasted people in line! Finally, they brought out another female to help with the female pat-downs. When I saw they were 'feeling up' the legs, I had to stick my camera down inside my top. I knew those two things in front were good for storage. LOL

There was no opening band....Crue came on at about 8:15, and played until 11. Kathy and I were ready to go by 10:30, but because we rode with her brother Tim and his wife Shawnie, we had to wait until they were ready. Vince Neil can't carry a tune if he tried. There were times when he sounded like Mickey Mouse on helium. I have to hand it to Mick Mars, though....he was great. Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx used the "F" word about every other word in a sentence. Really, guys.....is there honestly a need for saying "f*ck, f*cking," THAT many times?

Tommy pulled out his 'Tittie Cam' for about 10 minutes....good Lord there are some ugly boobs in this town! Tommy also turned the camera onto Nikki, and asked what he was doing on the side of the stage....evidently, Nikki was taking a piss, and we 'think' we saw Nikki's willy on the big screen. I was trying to take a picture of Nikki on the big screen when Kathy turned around with a look on her face that screamed, "OMG!" I looked up at the screen just as Tommy moved the camera away from Nikki's netherregion, so I didn't get a good look....but Kathy swears that was what it was.

Kathy and I went upstairs to find something to drink toward the end of their last song before the encore, and we had more fun laughing at some of the people we saw. We started cracking up this guy who was standing where we were, and he came over to laugh at people with us for a few minutes. We saw this one dude who looked like he was trying to be Sammy Hagar's lost son or something....he had the curly blond hair like Sammy, and the facial hair like Sammy has....this other dude came up from the seats, and it was one of those 'you had to be there' moments to really get the full effect of why this dude cracked Kathy and I up. He couldn't have been more than 19, long hair and the look on his face just busted us up. Trust me...it was hilarious!

So, overall.....while I enjoyed it, I wouldn't go out of my way to see Crue again. The arena was maybe 3/4 full....no seats in the upper level were taken, so it wasn't a sell-out. THEY SURE AREN'T DEF LEPPARD!!!

My pictures SUCK. I'll go through them again, but the lighting, the smoke, the fog all made it tough to get a decent picture. So maybe one or two turned out, out of 300. I'm very disappointed with that!

Tomorrow night! I'm looking forward to it! I just hope they don't start late....that's ridiculous for artists/performers to keep their audience waiting. I hope to take some better pictures than I did during The Eagles' concert.

And damn it....I still wish I could join all of my Lep buddies in Vegas in November. But NEXT TIME for SURE!

A Coyote - In Fresno??

I think I saw a small coyote on the way to work this morning. I had just left our house, and I was passing by one of the agricultural fields that Fresno State uses to grow corn (and let me tell you, it's KICKASS corn-on-the-cob, too), and I saw what I thought was a dog, standing all alone at the edge of the field. I thought, 'poor dog'. But as I passed by, it sure didn't look like a dog....it looked like a coyote! I don't think I've ever heard of coyotes coming down this far into the city before. Granted, the area where we live is still not really 'city'...you can get a country feel because of all of the ag land around....but that is quickly disappearing to the north of us with many agriculutural fields that once bore fruit for the world being replaced by expensive houses scrunched together as close as possible.

25 or 30 years ago, I wouldn't have thought it was as strange to see what appeared to be a coyote coming down from the foothills, but now? After I passed by, it darted across 4 lanes of traffic to the other side of the street to another empty field. Just bizarre.

Mom's Cardiology Visit

Rather than send out individual emails to everyone, I'll just post about Mom's cardiology consultation visit that she went to today. I wasn't able to go because of work, but Dad went. They didn't get home until about 5:15 pm, and her appointment time was 1:30.

Evidently, she has some heart muscle damage, and some scar tissue. In her words, the doctor said she was a 'very sick woman.' She said the did an EKG, and an echocardiogram. The cardiologist wanted to admit her to the hospital for a couple of days for observation, but she wouldn't have anything to do with that. He sent her home with samples of 2 pills she is to begin taking, along with potassium tablets.

She goes back on the 11th so he can see how the new medication is doing. He told her the pills will help her get better. I certainly hope so....so she can at least have a better quality of life than she currently has.

So, in a nutshell....that's what happened. Hopefully she will start to feel better soon, and will feel like getting out of the house from time to time.

Word Of The Day: "KaKoozie"

I went for a walk break outside this morning with one of the billers, and the Word Slaughterer. There is a Marriott across the way from our building. When we came around to the back side of the building, the Word Slaughterer said that if anyone ever wanted to have a nice breakfast, they should stay there....she continued to say: "They have a nice free breakfast, a KAKOOZIE, etc." The biller and I both looked at her and laughed, and I said, "You mean a JACUZZI?"

The Word Slaughterer is making up her own language evidently.

Need A Favor

I need a favor from anyone who will be attending the upcoming Lep shows. Kathy didn't buy a shirt at the Fresno show back in June, and she's kicking herself for not buying one....soooooo....would anyone be willing to buy a tour shirt for her in a size Small? I'll find out if she want the ROA shirt, or the Hysteria shirt, and she said she will gladly pay for the price of the shirt, plus any mailing costs.

You can email me privately at my Gmail address: fourt9rkim@gmail.com , and I will forward your email on to Kathy. She would GREATLY appreciate if anyone would be willing to do this small favor for her!
